For the glory of old state

“For her founders strong and great
For the future that we wait
Raise the song, raise the song.”
That is the first verse of the Penn State University Alma Mater. You hear in at football games (or through your television speakers while watching the games at home on tv), freshmen and new students are given a bookmark with the words on it during their orientation and get to sing along, and by the time those freshmen become seniors – they will know the Alma Mater! Ok, so maybe not, but they’ll be able to hum along. I think I have the first verse memorized.. but I’m working on it. I’ve got one more year to memorize the whole thing.
What does that have to do with this blog? Its my love of Penn State University as a whole, and this campus (Harrisburg) in particular, that has me writing this blog. I will be a senior in the fall, and it has been a long road, but I’ve learned a lot and I’m happy to be here. I’m also glad to have been given this opportunity to share my Penn State Harrisburg experience with you.

Over the next months, I will be talking about random things that go on here on campus and in the Harrisburg area. I’ll start off by talking about basic things, classes, club events, etc.. and probably borrow questions from student panels that I participate in if I run out of things to talk about. If anyone out there has any specific questions for me, that they would like to have me answer in this blog, I can be contacted at jli112@psu.edu.
